"JUST TRY IT ON"

Venus in Furs has a new album, and we need your help to get it out. This record has all your needs covered: Wisconsin politics (bad right now!), gay rights (good always!), loud surf-punk, and a fierce beast-riding lady with laserbeam eyes. We’re not just looking for answers, we’re screaming for the truth.

This album has been a little over three years in the making, with a lifetime of dreaming. In 2011 we self-recorded our first album "Welcome to the Club" in our basement after about a year of playing shows. Shortly after Cynthia joined, we released "Death of Disco," the EP that promoted our East Coast tour of 2012. A full-length album is finally in sight. Big thanks to Meghan Rose at Clutch Studios for recording and mixing, Mike Bridavsky at Russian Recordings for mastering, and Maggie Gosselar for creating our badass album art (preview above).

MAKING ART IS EXPENSIVE

High-quality production costs money. From studio time, to mixing and mastering, to original album art and pressing vinyl, we are proud to support so many great local and regional businesses as well as women in the industry. In the process however, we've racked up about 5k in expenses. The band has been lucky to slowly save from shows we've played and merch we've sold, but now we are hoping that you can help us to fill the gap. We need your help

DROPKICK? HUH?

When you use kickstarter, they take a cut of your sales. Let's skip the middleman and go straight from fan to band, so all of your contribution helps us put out this record. Further, while we really want to reach our goal, if we don't, we'll still get to keep what we raise to help pay for this album instead of losing it all.
